Netherlands - Clarinet Performance
Netherlands - Clarinet Performance
The Society cordially invites you to join society member John Macfarlane, together with the Damsco Quartet, on a journey through 200 years of clarinet music on the 29th September. John has written the book ‘A Clarinet Almanac’: a potpourri for everyone which includes music by Adolf Busch, Bernhard Crusell, Johann Fuchs, Hans Gál, Gordon Jacob, Wolfgang Mozart, Phyllis Tate, Margot Wright and four others.
The Damsco Quartet is an up-and-coming string quartet based in Amsterdam. The four young musicians have only been playing together since 2022, what started as a fun and challenging activity for people who shared a great love of chamber music and very soon after they started playing together, they stormed the stages. From 2023, the Damsco quartet started their studies at NSKA under the mentorship of Marc Danels.
Attendees will also have a chance to guess who the composers are of works written in the period 1895-1916! After the concert there will be an opportunity enjoy some join.
