“A very well planned and managed tour.  The hotel we stayed in was quiet and well located - within walking distance of the Hermitage, shops and the opera.  We saw a good mix of art, architecture and places of historic significance. Particular credit is due to our excellent trip scholar especially for sharing his encyclopaedic knowledge of Russian art and history within a broader European context and with such enthusiasm.  Credit must also go to our local staff for their unfailingly helpfulness and good humour.

I would like to add that any concerns I had about travelling on my own were unfounded, the group I travelled with were very friendly and inclusive and it was reassuring to find that I was by no means the only solo participant.
