Kevin Daly, OBE
Kevin Daly (Gonville & Caius College, 1992) has been awarded an OBE in the King's Birthday Honours 2023 for services to Economics.
Kevin is co-head of CEEMEA Economics within Global Macro Research. Prior to assuming this role in 2016, he was a senior economist on the European Economics team focusing on the Euro area and UK economies. Kevin has also worked on a number of issues affecting the global economy, including the global “savings glut,” the relationship between credit supply and economic growth, and the relationship between potential growth and asset returns. He joined Goldman Sachs in 2001 and was named managing director in 2010.
Kevin is a member of the advisory panel to the UK’s Office for Budget Responsibility and a member of a steering group of independent experts advising the UK Statistics Authority. He was chairman of the Society of Professional Economists (SPE) from 2016 to 2021. Kevin has been awarded the SPE’s Rybczynski Prize twice: in 2004 for his paper “Has Euroland Performed That Badly?,” and in 2007 for his paper “Gender Inequality, Growth and Global Ageing.” He has appeared as an expert witness before the House of Commons Treasury Select Committee and the House of Lords European Union Committee.
Kevin was awarded an Order of the British Empire (OBE) award for services to economics in the 2023 King’s Honours. Kevin earned a BA in Economics from Cambridge University, an MSc, with distinction, in Economics from University College London and a PhD in Economics from Trinity College Dublin.
