Mindfulness After Cam

Mindfulness After Cam

Our core objective is to promote the well-being of University of Cambridge alumni and their friends and family through mindfulness meditation; further enhance knowledge about mindfulness; and bring the mindfulness community together post-Cambridge.

You do not need any previous experience meditating to join the group - members of all levels and experiences are welcome.

How did Mindfulness After Cam come about?

Since 2015 the University of Cambridge has offered Mindfulness courses with their practitioner Dr Elizabeth English. The mindfulness community has grown steadily and two recent alumni who graduated in June 2020 spent their summer setting up this group, so that alumni will also have a mindfulness community after Cambridge.

What are the benefits of being part of Mindfulness After Cam?

Access to a community space for discussion, resource sharing and connection through social media platforms such as a Facebook and LinkedIn group;

Regular live, guided meditation sessions online with an accredited practitioner;

Talks from interesting speakers in the field;

Activities and workshops to put mindfulness teachings into practice;

A weekly bulletin with a theme to meditate on and a round up of resources;

A link back to the Cambridge University Mindfulness community through their offerings, resources and recordings, and socialising with the student society.

Our Ethos

This group values diversity, inclusion, compassion, and as such we take great effort to make it a safe space for all who join. We welcome everyone and do not tolerate discrimination in any form. The group is also open to friends and family of alumni who identify with mindfulness.

Growing the Community

We are looking for volunteers to grow the core committee and are particularly looking to fill the roles of treasurer, web/social media officer and events officer. Weekly commitment would likely be 1-2 hours. Please get in touch with us at mindfulnessaftercam@gmail.com if you would like to be part of creating and maintaining this community!

We look forward to meeting you...

Mindfully,
