Prague - An evening with Dr. Michal Bobek
We are happy to collaborate with the College of Europe and the Harvard Club, Prague, to offer our members an opportunity to attend an evening discussion with Dr. Michal Bobek, currently a Judge at the Supreme Administrative Court of the Czech Republic, on Thursday, 25th May 2023 at 7 p.m. at Café Graff, Palackého 740/1, Prague 1.
Born in 1977, Dr. Bobek studied law and international relations at the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Social Sciences at the Charles University in Prague, followed by a Diploma in English and EU Law from the University of Cambridge and an LLM from the University of Oxford (St. Edmund Hall). He received his PhD from the European University Institute in Florence, Italy before becoming Legal Secretary to the President of the Supreme Administrative Court (2005-09) and Head of the Research and Documentation Department of that court (2008-09). He was appointed Fellow (2011-12) and Research Fellow (2013-15) at the Institute of European and Comparative Law of the University of Oxford, Professor at the College of Europe in Bruges (2013-15) and Advocate General at the Court of Justice of the European Union (2015-2021). Author of numerous publications in the fields of European Law, comparative law, human rights law, legal theory and history, he is an invited lecturer and visiting professor at various universities in Europe and overseas.
