‘MUSIC THERAPY AND DEMENTIA’
Join us for a pub supper followed by an illustrated talk by Maggie Grady, Director of ‘Mindsong’, on how people living with dementia and those caring for them can be helped and supported by music therapy.
Maggie Grady is the Director of ‘Mindsong’, a charity that creates and provides music therapy services across Gloucestershire, tailored for people living with dementia and for their families and friends. It aims to support wellbeing, decrease isolation, help clients and carers communicate more easily and develop new relationships, and bring joy through music. Among its many services, it offers clinical music therapy sessions in clients’ homes, singing groups in the community and in care homes, and exploratory support groups for people who have recently received a dementia diagnosis. It aims to increase awareness and understanding of dementia through training and education.
