The author highlights the breadth and depth of the role that these services now play. The volume addresses student academic and career success and their wellbeing, stressing the importance of of understanding and respecting the diversity of the student body. In doing so, it emphasises the importance of envisioning universities as inclusive communities that challenge discrimination, prejudice and bullying and the importance of proactive initiatives that help students to develop and resilience.
